Both of these items were in my basics list.
- Stripes add a little detail that you’re looking for while trying to keep things simple.
Sweater & Shirt - J. Crew Outlet
A few people have asked me how to work their old Converses or Vans back in to their wardrobe or whether they should keep them at all. I would never tell you to throw away such timeless items. There’s a reason why Converses have been around so long (one major reason being my young basketball idol Pistol Pete), but that’s besides the point.
Everyones closet will go through phases. There are times when you will look back at something and wonder why you wore it, or wore it how you did. And other items will leave you wondering why you haven’t worn them in so long.
These shoes haven’t seen the light of day for a while. I liked wearing them, then dis-liked, then liked them again. Don’t act like that doesn’t happen to you all the time.
It’s definitely scarf season (aka 25 degrees out) and possibly time for you to take an old pair of shoes off the shelf to wear with some fresh gear.

Speaking of essentials, this sweater became one of mine. I bought it from J. Crew a while ago and a couple holes later, it’s a favorite. Just a simple gray crewneck sweater. No fancy pattern or color, but bold in its own way. Items like this never let you down.
Consider quality when buying something you think you’re going to wear often. And always be comfortable with what you’re wearing.

Break.
You know that feeling when you go home and already find yourself bored and wanting to go back? I don’t get that feeling. Home is beautiful. Surrounded by creativity, love, family.
“I think if you’re bored, you’re boring.”
-Tim BlanksRunning errands in your hometown is interesting. In order to avoid the awkward High School acquaintances and conversations I don’t want to be apart of I try and dress different enough that people in my hometown will question my sanity. That way, they might not even say hi to me.
Anywhere else, a parka is just another jacket. And look at all that green. Enjoy your break; you earned it.
